You have to provide something that people want to buy. Having your own product means you will rank as long as your website has buyers. Content is great but repeat buyers are the real KING.

You really need to read up on Media Buying. That's the closest thing to what you want - traffic generators are not even remotely targeted. Those just bring up your Alexa rank but too many spikes could get you thrown in the crib or whatever they call it.
