To take advantage of the domains age you'd have to buy it at auction and it would likely already quite a few links. Now the best use of this type of domain would to be use it as a PBN site.....but and it's a big but......to buy a 10+ year old domain with decent metrics and a good clean backlink...
These have probably been spammed to death by now, but here's 5000 USA Bar/Club Leads:

How many links and referring domains did it have previously?
How long have you owned the domain?
How long was it expired for?
Are you sure it's last use wasn't as a 301?
I agree totally with what Ftr said above, I suspect in this instance you're feeling the sandbox effect. Although I am concerned that you're not #1 for domain com (without the dot).
Try searching domain com title of your article....if you're not #1 for that then that is a definite worry.
For a local business the best 2 type of sites to look at for links are:
1) Local area relevant - any sort of site that caters only to the area you wish to target.
2) Niche relevant - any site that caters to the niche of the business.
So say you are a plumber based in London, you want London...
Nice method but sadly not for me as I suck at graphics.
I just wanted to point out that Mailchimp doesn't actually require an optin, you can simply just upload an existing list. I don't think this is the case for aweber though.
Presumably your application includes your Gmail info and your ID. So next thing you will hear from them will be something like.....
"Thank you for your interest in taking part in our case study, unfortunately on this occasion you have been unsuccessful."
Voila, you've just had your identity...
Anyone that goes for this might as well say goodbye to their identities. There is so much they could potentially do with your gmail account info and copies of your ID.
