Hang on... think you mean PS3? I agree it's a lot of money, and always best to avoid launch models. Wouldn't say it's materialistic though, people enjoy it and there's no equal alternatives, not like buying brand fashion etc. when you can get something that looks identical for half the price.

A nice little plugin if you want total control over your permalinks "Custom Permalinks" (search repository). Really useful.

I use a few different hosts in use, at the moment I like Arvixe managed vps with cpanel and whm. Seen that they are not well regarded on here though, which now worries me a bit, although not had much trouble after the rather disapointing initial setup. Site5 is another good one for me.
