Big Danialo! Nice work and great thread.
Been out of the game for a good year and am working my way back in. It's good to hear that SEO isn't dead. I have 4 EMDs that I've used a similar method with and ranked them between 20 - 10 with only 4-8 articles per site.
I'm going to move forward...
Not quite sure if this was written as a satyr on the many internet "gurus" out there, but this was definitely a good read.
And no, I'm not just some random n00b commenting on an 08 post, but I'm also commenting on the recent comments that people have been making. I wonder if the n00bs trying...
Interesting study, but I'm not quite seeing the correlation between ranking on youtube vs ranking your moneysite. Are you putting adds on your youtube video? How many visitors are you receiving from youtube to your moneysite?
I feel that it is definitely important to build video links to your...
Nerf, I'm not quite sure about what strategy you're planning on taking for the business. Are you actually planning on helping them market in the community, or are you only trying to increase their SERPs for relevant searches? The approach for each would be a little different.
There are definitely several factors that any internet marketer needs to start taking into consideration. However, as JR stated, we really can't read into it too much at this point. As Google's database continues to grow and the processing of information from Knowledge Graph becomes more...
When thinking about anything linking directly to our money sites (Tier 1), we definitely have to consider both. When thinking of Tier 2+ links, both become a factor, but the spun content penalty may become more imperative. If we get a dup content penalty, it would only devalue the link juice...
Thanks for the insight.
Fel, what was the time frame for your method? When did your sites drop, on the first penguin update? And did you blast all your sites at one time or did you do it over a few weeks? Also, when did your sites rebound? In between updates or after this most recent update?
I'm sorry darkache, but I have shitty content on some of my money sites. Sites with 3 pages (other than the contact us, privacy, or terms page) that continue to rank within top 10 on G.
How G is treating authority at this point is a mystery. Backlinking should continue to be a part of...
Just like any backlinks going to moneysite, we have to take it with a grain of salt. Is the content placed on your wiki posts unique? LSI rich? Are your anchor texts diversified? What's the pagerank/authority like for the wiki site?
If you have links coming from an authoritative wiki site...
I think even pre-penguin, you SEOers should have considered diversified backlinking strategies.
First are the sources. You don't want any links from trash sources to your money sites.
Second, anchor text diversity is a must.
Third, we can't forget that linkjuice flowing through our Tier 1+...
My SERPS have been rising steadily this past week and I'm getting a lot of LSI traffic to my sites, so I'm not quite sure what's going on....
But as far as the penguin updates, it should occur on a monthly basis as mentioned. So 06/24/12 is "P-Day".
reinie, You should run a test and see how it goes =P.
Anyway, the results from your experiments are pretty daunting jb. What G is doing creates an almost impossible barrier of entry to overcome for small businesses, not just SEOers. G has created a type of doughnut hole where people would...
Take a look at the thread called "Penguin: My test results are in". jb gives the results of the experiments that he ran on his sites. He stated that the 301 works for about a week increasing SERPS for the new site, but the penalty is eventually translates over to the new domain.
I have a site that I'm blasting with AMR directly. AMR is the primary tool I use for the site and it has worked wonders. Even post penguin, my site never dipped below top 10 for EMD searches. However, I do not have experience with other article marketing programs. But I have read people...
There's something wrong with the livelinks feature of AMR. I've been able to find my articles on sites where there is no livelink showing on AMR.
I really don't know what's going on with the developer, but they should consider working on some of these bugs because I still think it's one of the...
Microniche is probably the best place to get started. That's where I am getting started and there is potential to generate large revenue over time. Costs minimal amount to start up and you can scale as you go.
You can think of longer term projects after you start generating some income if...
You should probably do some niche analysis and make some projections on how large this project of yours is going to be, how much money you could potentially make, how long it will take for you to get there with x amount of members, etc. If you will have no competitors and there is really a...
