301 redirecting from a domain that has received penalty?

Why take the risk? I've read on some big SEO blogs that it IS possible to get a penalty this way. Obviously, I've never tried it so I can't tell you from any personal experience. But as far as I know, when a domain expires and is then newly registered, sometimes the Big G hits the 'reset'...

does domains that redirect rank on google?

If the redirected domain uses a 302 redirect, yes it can rank (and I've seen cases of this) If the redirected domain uses a 301 redirect, no it will not rank It's important to know what the different kinds of redirects are. Only a 301 redirect will give link juice to the target of the redirect.

    info domain ranking ?

I agree with Subsonic. Do it right: get a dot com.

    Are eu domains good?

I disagree. I have found that .eu domains are a bit harder to rank. Yes, it's possible...but it is harder. If your site is in English than do yourself a favor: get a dot com. If the dot com is not available, get a dot org instead...or choose a variation of your keyword phrase on the dot com.

    Redirect 301 Without Deindexing

If you use a 301 redirect, Google WILL replace the first link in the index with the second link...after a certain amount of time. If you don't want the original link to disappear out of the index, you should use a 302 redirect instead...but these are NOT search engine friendly and it may damage...

Need suggestion in Registering a hyphen Domain with 22k GMS

Personally: I don't like hyphens in domains. Sure, there are some websites with hyphens that are strong, with great rankings...but many people think they look spammy. What I would do is: as long as the exact match .net and .org are available, register both of these. Use the .org as your main...

I often think that, if I had to do it all over again...I would choose the stock market and day trading...or currency trading.

    domains with numerics w/keyword

With numbers and hyphens in domains you want to be real careful. Generally, in the domain industry, the appearance of a hyphen or a number in a domain will make it less valuable. There are, however, lots of examples of sites with killer rankings that have hyphens or numbers in the domains. If...

    How do You Stay Organized?

If it gets too organized...I might as well be working at a bank or an insurance company! A healthy dose of chaos is what's needed to get my blood flowing each morning and to keep it FUN.

    Does Google perform traffic shaping?

Most sites attract traffic from not just one keyword, but from many different keywords. Can it be that the rankings for some other keywords have disappeared? Or - perhaps it is a bug in your rank checker? Or - perhaps it is a bug in your web analytics software that shows you your traffic...

Can you rank well with any domain extension?

My experiences have shown me that the more exotic or unusual the domain ending, the harder it'll be to get the domain to rank (though it's still possible). You want my best advice? Stick with .com or .org Forget about the other extensions. The worst ones I've ever tried are .biz, .info and...

Google deindexed my homepage but all the pages are still there? Weird...

You want to check that you have no weird redirect going on from the homepage to another page (like a redirect that only Google can find, when it accesses your site). Check to see if your homepage is still in the Google cache. If you're not afraid of doing so, I would add the site to Google's...

    Is hyphen in domain worthy

In the english-speaking world, domain names are always more valuable without hyphens. But you can still have a successful, good-ranking website with a hyphen in it. However, I really wouldn't recommend two or more hyphens in a domain name! If you have to use a hyphen, OK, but keep it limited...

Clearing up some things about PR and SERP ranking.

Respectfully: I understand the point you're trying to make but statements like these are IMHO overly simplified: There are over 200 ranking factors in the Google algo...that's what makes it such a challenge. To get the best results over the long haul, you need to tweak more factors than just...

Have you Ever Been Dropped from Google for "Low Quality"?

Sounds like you fell under the scrutiny of a manual reviewer. These days, when you make your money site, it really has to be good. Good, original content, good looking, and it has to actually provide value to the visitors. One of your competitors might've filed a spam report on you, and then...
