Sales #'s and rankings are indeed not listed but there are other ways to gain insight on other sellers. Craftcount dot com lists top sellers by category for which you can visit shops and see what sells. A bit more legwork involved but certainly worth the effort.

I ordered three 500 word articles this morning and imagine my surprise when the afternoon rolled around and three attachments popped into my inbox.
Regardless of speed, the quality is outstanding. Considering they made it to me that quickly, it's even more incredible.
In this case his...

Looks like he is using the API to inject html and/or inline styles as part of the data. I think this is the reason you see the style calling for a background image in the about section. Surely this is a security flaw which has been exploited.
This is definitely through the etsy api but I am still trying to figure it out. Have you had any new info?
Also, have you tried contacting the shop owner. A bit of a cheeky request but you never know.
I'm all over this.
Have a look at his treasury listing 'please don't look at this'. He has managed to tinker with this as well.

Let me know if you...

I am in the midst of setting up my own ecommerce site...

Others favorite your items and you favorite theirs in return. Following others increases your followers so when you post new products or renew them, a larger group sees them and gives you more exposure. Same with treasuries in that the more you are featured in one the more exposure you get.

Getting listed on the 1st page of results is quite easy. Maintaining that position is more difficult. Constantly updating tags and descriptions along with renewing does the trick. Anyone else out there with any thoughts?
I would like to hear other peoples opinion here but I don't think the mass following ever translated in to a huge increase in sales. Yes you do see some bumps in traffic but quite a bit of this is others doing exactly the same thing you are doing.
I have found that keyword selection is crucial...
