I'm working on different (low level) websites with splitchecks and to me it doesn't seem to make a difference how often the content is updated.
At least I saw no effect when I uploaded new content daily of even weekly but it might depend on the niche.

No nothing was linked. I guess they tracked that the accounts have been accessed from the same devices and IPs. I just checked my emails, it happened 2012. It translates to something like this:

It might happen. A friend used my Ebay account for buying things he resold on his account. When his account got a limit yeats later it was also applied to my account. We didn't even lived in the same household.
