just because copyscape says it is unique, it does not mean it is 100% unique. G does not use copyscape to check for the content uniqueness. copyscape is just a tool to give you an idea of the content, at least in my tests/experience.

I have not seen anything new , for sites that gained new organic kws rankings i saw increase in organic traffic, and viceversa. If you "lost traffic" because of no kws change it can also mean that there is more organic traffic going to the other positions on top of you, or that their CTR is...

Exactly what @patriotnews said: you don't need a lot of traffic to make this worthwhile to you. Good targeted traffic is better than lots of traffic unrelated or not matched closely to what you're trying to promote.
