A very small amount of duplicate content is very common on all websites. Don't worry about small things and focus on a bigger picture.

That really depends. Let's say you're working for a dentist. 100 searches/month for dental implants is still better than 200 searches for teeth whitening. You need to think about the value of the keyword. If you're talking about affiliate, I try to go after 500+ searches/month at least.

If you had to choose one tool, go with Ahrefs. They have the best backlink checker, keyword planner and a decent ranking checker (not good for local businesses though). I personally use the combination of Ahrefs & Bright Local & Keyword Planner
