I think I am going to give private proxies a go for the time being and see where that leads. I am not sure how long it takes the pros to harvest working public proxies but at the moment for me it's taking far too long to even be slightly successful.

How many proxies is ideal for harvesting blogs/checking pagerank/do follow. If I only need 1 that might help. Would I need to adjust my settings to suit. e.g Read about the 20% rule? If the proxy is banned and I have only 1 proxy in the list, how do I know it's stopped working when harvesting?
