Not exactly what I'm talking about. There wouldn't be a loop because Domain A would no longer be redirected to Domain B. Only Domain B would be redirected to Domain A. The whole point of my question is to see how the rankings are affected if you noticed that the new domain isn't ranking as well...

Question, after the 301's do you guys use the Web Address Change tool or you just let it switch naturally? It's a fairly large site (700+ pages).

This update doesn't make sense. There is no pattern. It feel likes Google just playing "spin the wheel".
