Depends what you competitors are doing. From my experience "startpagina"-directory's are used as a supplementation to other powerful links. You most likely won't find a high ranking site with a profile full of directory links. With that said, if your competition has them, you are kind of...

How's the CTR on Bit.ly links. In my experience people associate a Bit.ly link with malicious files.

Try to create site in your own native language. Or, try it out - fix the wording by hand and let a native speaker check your grammar, etc.

Hmm, strange. I'm getting these results from a Dutch YT video. Not all video URL's give these results though.
