Since I can't afford a SEO guy for now...would it be wise for me to put my business website up for someone to learn or try to get it up to the first page? I'm taking a chance huh? lol

WHat the best site to date?

I'm trying to get my videography site going and want to get it to the first page if possible and have been reading a lot by googling...but for some reason nothing has "clicked" yet. I guess for me....I would rather have some step by step tutorial like on Lynda style. Any suggestions would help...
