Just curious, because I have found a expiring inactive domain, expiring in a month or so. I plan on registering this domain, but I want it to keep it's age, so how do I go about that? I assume, if I just register it after it expires, the domain resets it age?

Let's say I run a eCommerce site called buy.com. And to rank better, I pump up fresh articles daily related to my niche. Now my question is, ranking wise, is it better to post these articles on a subdomain like guides.buy.com and link back, or on a completely new domain and link back?
