You don't have to just stick to home page, you can insert it other into articles, making sure that those articles are linked to on the home page to allow linkjuice to flow.

Yep, think about it. All popular web2.0 domains have huuuge DA, but does that mean that if you create a page on them, it will automatically rank #1? No. Same with amazon pages. amazon.com has huge DA, but individual product pages are the easiest thing to outrank.
