I'm deciding between two domains I own: CityHomes.net and City.RealEstate. The net domain is 19 years old, while the realestate one is brand new. I haven't found much information online about how well realestate domains rank in search results.

I need something verified. I am about to start working on building a custom php site, but have a wordpress site that ranks well now. When I launch my new php site, and 301 direct (wordpress)/new to (php)/new.php will I lose any my rank for the 'new' page?

I am considering buying a domain which is a net for $1,500. The domain is 11 years old and ranks on page 2 for the exact match. My concern is that the domain is a .net. Before I spend $1,500 I want to make sure it's worth it and I won't have a problem getting it to rank...
