How to unstick Google rankings using internal linking

This seo trick is worth knowing especially if your website has pages stuck on Googles second page

Want to move those pages toward the top 5 or even the first position? Here’s simple strategy to test

Step 1 final relevant pages
Open Google and search

Site (yourwebsite.com) your target keywords

Google will show indexed pages from your website related to that keyword

Step 2 add internal links

Open all relevant pages from the results

Edit those pages and add contextual internal links pointing to the pages you want to rank higher

Step 3 update your page title

Update and optimize the seo title off your target page to better match your keyword and search intent

Step 4 get your pages crawled

Use a indexing or Google search console to request recrawlings off the updated pages

The goal is to help Google discover your new internal links and title changes

The seo trick

If Google quick recrawls and processes your updated pages you may see improvements in your target pages ranking

Have you tested this internal links strategy on pages stuck on googles second pages

Internal linking can certainly help pages that are on the verge of breaking through. I'd just be wary of the "within 10 minutes" bit. Google may well crawl a change very quickly, but there's no guarantee of any ranking uplift and it won't be immediate.

I'd be focused on adding relevant contextual links from strong, related pages rather than just every page that comes up in a site: search. Also do a request index via Search Console where appropriate (it won't guarantee an immediate recrawl).

The strategy is definitely worth a go, particularly on the pages that are currently ranking on page 2. The only thing you need to do is track the changes over time rather than make a judgement on the result in minutes.

Did you check whether Google actually recrawled the source pages containing the new links? Updating internal links and requesting indexing on the target page are two different things. The new links need to be discovered and processed before you can judge their effect.

I've used internal links to help Google understand how pages on a site are connected. It can help, but I wouldn't expect rankings to change in 10 minutes. The links need to make sense in the content, otherwise adding more of them won't do much.

thank you because the way its been put made everything seems simple like just follow and you will see result like that :weep:

test internal links first nd track the target page in search console. changing the title at the same time makes it harder to tell what actually helped.

This approach is definitely worth a try, but whether rankings can rise quickly still depends on the quality of the page's content itself and the competitiveness of the keywords.

Good thread, and I agree with the main point here. Internal links from the right pages can move a page that is stuck on page 2, but I would not expect it in 10 minutes either. One thing I would add is to check which of those pages actually get traffic or rank for something themselves before linking from them. A link from a page Google already trusts carries a lot more weight than one from a page that barely gets crawled. I also agree with ellawilson about testing one change at a time. If you change the title and add links together, you will not know which one made the difference. I usually add the links first, wait for Search Console to show the source pages were recrawled, and only then look at the movement over a week or two.

Internal linking can help improve page relevance and discovery but I’d avoid expecting ranking changes within minutes

I can safely state that the inner links helped me get closer to page 1. My plan starts with adding some relevant link nd tracking the results through GSC instead of making all changes right away. It looks like ten minutes improvement is an exaggeration – as there will alway be a little amount of time necessary for stabilization.

Internal linking can help Google understand which pages are important, but ranking changes usually take time. The key is using relevant links that actually help readers, not just adding links to push rankings.

there is no question that internal link can be vry helpful to pages that are currently sitting at page 2. but if you are linking from relevant page that are getting some traffic, it will be much better for me. I always keep an eye on GSC nd give time for all these changes to show. It is always better to do things once than to do all at once since it becomes difficult to know what worked.

Internal links can actually help a page performs better, but quick ranking is never a sure bet.

where the link sits matters more than how many you add. a link in the main body of a page carries more than the same link in a sidebar, footer or a related posts block, and google generally takes the first link to a url on a page and ignores the anchor of the rest. so a fourth sidebar link to the same target adds basically nothing
before adding more, crawl the site and look at how many internal links the stuck page actually has and where they come from. most of the time the page that needs the boost is being linked only from archives and the footer, while the pages that get real traffic never link to it at all. fixing that is the part that moves, and it still takes weeks not minutes
