Has the .COM price increase changed how you handle client domains?

Verisign raised .COM wholesale prices on November 1.

For anyone managing domains across several client websites: what happens when a client keeps paying for a domain tied to a project they abandoned two years ago?

Do you recommend renewing it for another year, or ask whether they still have plans for that site? I'm especially interested in how you handle clients with lots of small projects. o_O

That's a very good question.
In fact, I have no idea what could work in such cases. I have never been in that position.

What I can tell you is that honesty and sincerity are highly valued, as not everyone in business is genuine. Talk to your clients that’s the first step.

Thanks a lot, Funiki! Some clients may want to keep the domain for future use, while others might not even realise they're still paying for an abandoned project. That's why communication is needed.

If the communication is on point i think the customers should know and choose if they want to go that route if the domain price increase. That is just my point and i think many customers will appreciate this approach as they can take decisions then and be informed but for you if you need to manage a large number of customers is harder so try to automatize how you communicate with those
