I am trying to figure out which SEO tasks deserve the most attention when the budget is limited. Would you focus on technical fixes, content improvements or backlinks first? It would be helpful to know how you decide what to work on.

most tasks are now almost free. Get an API.... if you roam around you can get lot of free APIs so connect it with an agent Claude code, Hermes, etc and then you can do technically everything free.. I rarely go to hosting, install plugins etc myself now only manual task I do is link building as I still have to optimize my tools here and there (restart after lagging GSA, Xevil, etc) they are also going to automate soon as those link building tools are developing MCPs for their tools so if you have basic tools its almost free... other than link building part you still need proxies, API quotas here n there, link lists etc

first i would fix major technical issues , then improve existing content and internal linking. Once the site is healthy, then invest in relevant backlinks if the niche is competitive.

I'd fix anything stopping pages from getting indexed first, then improve content that already has some impressions. Backlinks can come later once the site is technically sound and the pages are worth promoting.

Same process will be adopted in this case. I would start by investigating the indexing problems in GSC and then try to work on the pages that are currently receiving impressions.

for a start, I will index the page nd then move forward to select the pages which have some impressions instead of buying backlinks.

I would fix indexing issues first, ecause there is little point improving pages that google can not access properly.

yep, i would go and look at Google Search Console and URL inspection to find out why the pages aren't getting indexed. Once they can crawl the right pages, then we work on the content and internal linking.

There should are tones free tools and APIs you can utilized now, you only have to spend time in researching. But before you do that, ensure your pages are indexing properly else, the tools will not help you

Not every technical issue needs fixing right away. With a small budget, it makes more sense to look at which problems affect your important pages and how much work each fix needs. Fixing something that could bring more traffic is usually better than spending hours on minor errors.

If the site has good content but competitors have stronger authority, link building may deserve more attention.

Indeed, however, I would first analyze the actual pages that outrank you before taking the plunge to get backlinks. At times, more targeted content and internal links can help you narrow the gap considerably without costing you much.

I prioritize SEO tasks by focusing on keyword research, on-page optimization, and fixing technical issues that have the biggest impact.
I use free SEO tools, create quality content, and build relevant backlinks to get the best results on a small budget.

I alway start with GSC to address problems that could be affecting the indexing proces nd then move on to those page that are indexed. no use spending money on backlinks when content and basic stuff have not been sorted out yet.

Maybe first you fix the technical issues like meta Tittle, Description, relevant tags after fix this all then go for Backlinks

The main thing is finding what is holding the site back right now, instead of spending a little on every SEO task.

With a small budget my first step would be to correct any technical problems that make the page unindexable next would come content improvement and keyword targeting with realistic competition backlinks should be left out unless absolutely necessary in my opinion, the best priority will depend on the present state of the website

For a local business, improving the Google Business Profile and service pages can help more than buying backlinks at the start.
