What did TikTok do to my video after the first hour of it being posted?

it could be that tiktok offers ur video a little bit of exposure and then determines whether to continue promotting it. what is interesting is that this has occurred for 10 videos, so u should probably consider looking at the average watch time rather than just the number of likes. there have been cases where someone liked the video but just scrolled past too quickly.
The number of views and likes are almost identical, which makes me wonder if I might be violating some unwritten rule.

Yes, this is the normal algorithm of TikTok. It is normal for TikTok to have more views at the beginning and then suddenly decrease. TikTok first delivers your video to a few people. If these people watch the entire video, like it, and comment on it, TikTok sends it to a larger audience. But if the people at the beginning swipe away the video quickly or don't watch it completely, TikTok thinks that the video is not good and stops it. That's why you feel like the video is dead after the first hour. For this, the first 2 seconds of the video are the most important. Make them attractive and make the video short and looped so that the watch time increases.
So my video must fall into the second category, then perhaps the content is just too generic?

That first-hour spike could be TikTok testing your video with an initial audience. If people swipe away early or don't share it, reach may slow down. I'd compare average watch time and completion rates across those posts.
I’m wondering if 10 is too many for a test run? I’m concerned that my 11th video might run into the same issue, so I’d like to address it.

That's how TikTok works: your content isn't good enough to be recommended long-term (it depends on watch time to recommend it to the next person; if the video content is good and has a high watch time, TikTok will automatically recommend it to the next person).
I think my content really isn't engaging enough. I’ll have to redo it.

TikTok tends to promote videos during "prime time," so it’s normal to get a good number of views right after posting. If the views suddenly drop off, it’s likely because your video isn't engaging enough did you include a compelling hook in the first two seconds?

I’ve been uploading videos quite randomly; I’ve noticed other creators doing the same, yet they get a lot of engagement.

tiktok views can be strange at times. just bcz there is a good start does not mean that the video will continue to be promoted.the video may work well for the first set of viewers but not so well with the following viewers. have u considered whether viewers are actually watching the enttire video?
My videos are quite short. sometimes they consist of just images.

maybe tiktok boosts ur videos initially but once that initial audience sees the video, its reach starts to decrease.if this trend is consistent across ten videos i would focus on the number of views nd watch time rather than just likes.do u see a revival of view countts a day or two later for any videos?
It has never happened that the view count goes back up after a few days. I only ever see it stay completely stagnant as if the views have simply vanished.

I’ve encountered this situation before; I stopped after the third video and took a break for a while. When I returned to posting again, there was a noticeable change in my view and like counts.

Why do the videos I post on TikTok get a high number of views and likes in the first hour, only to then go completely quiet? This has happened with 10 of my videos now. Is it due to the distribution algorithm or user behavior?

Has anyone else experienced this?
What is your niche? Maybe Tik Tok is testing your videos to find your proper audience.

It’s a TikTok algorithm. it starts by distributing content widely, then gradually narrows its reach based on user engagement and re-categorizes the content accordingly.

Could it be that you aren't making the most of the hook at the beginning of your video? If there’s nothing compelling there, it’s perfectly normal for your view count to remain stagnant.

hi bro Immediately, TikTok’s AI systems and algorithms scan the video and audio to check for any violations of its community guidelines—such as copyright infringement, violent imagery, sensitive content, prohibited keywords, or dangerous behavior.

If your video isn't maintaining good retention rates, view counts, or engagement, try uploading a new video and optimizing the opening few seconds.

Are your videos good quality/entertaining?

This seems like a regular algorithm behaviour - on upload it pushes your video to broad audience, then detects that users aren't engaging that much with your video and slowly your video's reach dies out.
Yes that's it. Then more important to fix this,is have an usa proxy (not rotating) with anti detect browser using only on your PC when you want to reach US traffic.

To get a good list of buyers, getting clients, make sales - what is better; have entertainment broad video or a niche target educational video/ video to specific audience, what do you think ? Do you learn form successful IG people who making money / sales ? (most not learn...)

Most people not learn from successful IG and YT marketers.

Yes making entertainment funny reels ande videos, broad, try go viral yep, then you will not reach a specific target audience who will buy from you, become your clients- that will not happen. You need authority content framework (good hook, contrarian, controverse).....

Then when you reel/video is helpful ha svalue, then it will spread viral, to your specific audience, not broad worldwide.

Happy Peaceful Sunday !

That can happen when TikTok’s initial distribution slows after testing a video with an audience. It doesn’t necessarily mean anything is wrong with your account. Check retention, completion rate, and shares in Analytics, and keep in mind some videos may get another wave of views later.

and engagement matters a lot of bigger organic reach, this is the reason many successful IG marketers using DM systems the right way, not cold mass spam.

From my experience, I think TikTok tests videos with a small audience first. But still, getting views in the first hour doesn't guarantee that the video will keep growing.

Engagement, watch time, and how many people finish the video can affect whether TikTok pushes it to a wider audience.
