95% of reviews dropped on GBP. Is it a new Google update?

I had an opportunity to work with a few guys here with GMB profile reviews. Everything was OK until this month. Almost all reviews had been deleted. And it's not a problem of one contractor. It happened with reviews from all of them.
Can someone tell me what's going on? :)

It may have something to do with Google’s review filters or policies rather than an individual update i would verify if the reviews were just removed from their profile or completely taken down and look at Google’s latest policies were the decreases in ratings on the same date for all profiles?

Agreed, I also think they may most likely fake reviews because Google has become quite strict with its GMB review policies these days.
