Client added a card on tuesday, account restricted on thursday, and the card probably wasn’t the whole story

Client added a second payment method on a tuesday and the account was restricted by thursday. Easy story, but when i pulled the change history there were two other edits in the same window, a pixel re-pasted on checkout and a pixel shared in from another bm. Nobody had told me about either.

I can’t say which one mattered, if any. The pixel changes were closer to the restriction in time, but that’s weak evidence. I stopped touching things, listed the changes with dates in the appeal, and left the cause out. It was back in about four days, no explanation given.

Now my clients message me before changing payment, pixel or bm permissions.

Good approach. Documenting every change and avoiding assumptions about the cause makes the appeal clearer. Having clients notify you before making changes is a smart precaution.

Yeah, neither of those pixel changes came up until I asked. That was the frustrating part.

I have seen why tracking changes matters, when multiple edits happen close together it’s almost impossible to point to one cause with confidence.

Yeah, I was ready to blame the card before I saw the other changes. Getting the account back didn’t clear that up either, since there was no explanation.

Yes, this is a good reminder to track every account change also It’s hard to know what caused a restriction when multiple things change around the same time.

Yeah, the timeline helped me write the appeal, but it still didn’t tell me which change mattered. I left that part open rather than blaming the card.

Yes, this is why I always recommend checking the full change history before making an appeal and list all recent changes with dates and avoid guessing the cause.

Yes, this is a good reminder to keep track of every account change because sometimes multiple changes make it difficult to identify what triggered a restriction.
