Running an Online Business Outside the U.S.? Here's Why a U.S. LLC Is Worth Considering

If you're running an online business and don't live in the United States, setting up a U.S. LLC might be one of the smartest moves for your business.
The best part? You don't need to be a U.S. citizen, live in America, or even travel there to establish one.
A U.S. LLC gives international entrepreneurs access to a recognized business structure, opportunities to apply for U.S. financial services, and a foundation for international business operations.

Why Consider a U.S. LLC?

✅ Access to U.S. Banking & Payment Processors
A U.S. LLC allows you to apply for U.S. business bank accounts and payment services such as Stripe, Mercury, and other providers, subject to their eligibility requirements.
✅ Run Your Business From Anywhere
Operate your online business remotely while having a registered company in the United States. No U.S. residency or visa required.
✅ Limited Liability Protection
An LLC generally separates your personal assets from business liabilities, provided you maintain the company properly.
✅ Affordable & Straightforward Setup
You don't need an expensive incorporation agency. In many states, forming an LLC is relatively inexpensive, and the entire process is possible remotely.
✅ Build an International Business Presence
Having a U.S.-registered company gives you a formal business identity for working with international clients, partners, and service providers.
✅ Flexible for Different Business Models
Whether you're running an e-commerce store, selling digital products, managing an agency, freelancing, or building a SaaS business, an LLC offers a flexible structure.

REVIEW: The LLC Code - U.S. LLC course for non-residents

Thanks to the OP for the review copy. I went through all the lessons. Here's my take.

WHAT YOU GET
  • 10 short, focused lessons (~1.5 to 9 min each, roughly 50 min total)
  • Each lesson is a screen recording where he walks through a written guide step by step. It's quick to get through, and you can finish the whole course in one sitting.
  • It covers the full path: why an LLC, state choice, registered agent, name check, business address, BOI, taxes and ITIN.

WHAT I LIKED
  • The address lesson alone is worth the price. He shows how to get a virtual address, check it for the CMRA flag, complete USPS Form 1583 with online notarization, and switch the account to your LLC after formation. Most free guides skip this, and it's exactly where a lot of people get rejected by banks.
  • The state comparison is clear and to the point. He covers Wyoming, Delaware and Nevada with a fee table that's accurate.
  • The registered agent lesson explains the agent vs. organizer roles well, including a good privacy tip: let the agent act as organizer so your name stays off the public Articles.
  • The tax lesson actually mentions Form 5472 + pro-forma 1120 and the $25k penalty. A lot of cheap LLC courses never mention this, so credit to him for including it. The ETBUS / no-U.S.-nexus explanation is easy to follow, and the list of business types (agencies, digital products, affiliate, content) is helpful for knowing where you stand.
  • The name check lesson gives you free tools and practical naming advice, like avoiding "sketchy" names that make banks nervous.
  • No fluff. It's beginner-friendly, short, and to the point, with plain language and no legal jargon.

ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT

A few things I'd love to see added or updated in a future version:
  • EIN: there's no DIY SS-4 walkthrough yet. The ITIN lesson points to a paid service instead.
  • Banking: the intro mentions banking, but there's no dedicated lesson on Mercury, Wise, Relay, etc.
  • A short how-to for actually filing Form 5472 (deadline, fax/mail) would round out the compliance part.

WHO IT'S FOR

Beginners and non-residents who want a short, clear overview of the formation process in one place, without reading through dozens of threads. If you're starting from zero, it gets you oriented fast.

VERDICT

A solid, no-nonsense starter course. The address/bank-readiness lesson, the state comparison and the 5472 mention give real value for $49. Add an EIN walkthrough, a banking lesson and a BOI update, and this would be an easy recommendation for anyone setting up their first U.S. LLC.
