I'm new here and need some advice. I've had my Instagram account for 4 years. My reach used to be around 10.1K, but now it's down to 4K.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any tips on how I can improve my reach? What should I focus on as a beginner?

Thanks in advance!

there are methods regard growing social media app include follow with unfollow and M/S method to reachout on competitors page followers with messages to promote profile for engage and interact.

Algorithm changed big time over the last couple of years. Old tactics don't work the same. Focus heavily on Reels (shorter hook, fast pacing) and saves/shares instead of just likes. Also check your account status to make sure you aren't shadowbanned

You haven’t done anything wrong. Your focus should simply be on creating high-quality content—whether it’s photos or videos—and making it as good as possible. Don’t worry too much about drops in views caused by the platform itself.

Reels is definitely best way to get in the algorithm nowadays

Honestly, just post Reels a few times a week and make the first two seconds really grab people. Pick one topic to stick with so Instagram knows who to show you to, then look at your Insights, see what did best, and do more of that.

I'd check which posts used to get the most reach and compare them with your recent ones. Sometimes the content that worked before just stops connecting with the audience. I'd test a few different formats and see what brings people back.

If you have changed your account name or concept on Instagram, these things might happen.

View counts will vary depending on the content and the timing of your posts. Have you been consistent with your content posting from the very beginning?

I don’t think having an old account automatically guarantees consistent views. You have to keep updating and refreshing your content to retain your audience.

Check your Insights to see if watch time, shares, or saves have dropped. Experiment with fresh Reel formats and stronger hooks, and review Account Status for any recommendation restrictions. Compare recent posts with your best performers to spot patterns before changing everything.

Check your account insights to see if non-follower reach took the hit. IG changed non-follower distribution, so focus heavily on short Reels with strong initial watch time and carousels that encourage saves.

Check your insights to see which posts used to perform well and which ones do now. Try Reels and different content formats. Also, check if your account has any restrictions. Posting more often doesn’t always help

Reach can fluctuate over time, so I’dstart by checking your Insights to see which posts perform best.Focus on creating content your audience enjoys, experiment with Reelsand carousels, and stay consistent. Also, make sure your content iseligible for recommendations.

I'd check which posts were getting the most reach before the drop. Sometimes the same type of content just stops working as well.

Also take a look at shares and saves, not just likes. Those can tell you a lot about what people actually find worth watching.

View counts do not depend on whether an account is old or new. what matters is that your content remains fresh. that is what attracts views.
