Yeah, that makes sense. Big subs can make the numbers look great, but sometimes nothing much happens after those clicks .
A smaller sub can bring fewer people but more actual conversations.

Yeah, I get this. A smaller sub might bring fewer clicks, but the people there are actually interested in the topic. I’d take 100 relevant visitors over 1,000 random ones any day.

Sometimes I think we focus too much on getting clicks and forget what happens after that Getting people to visit is one thing, but keeping them interested enough to explore more is a different challenge. Not every click is actually useful.

The one metric I'd add is how often mods remove promotional-looking posts, because you can have a perfect niche sub that deletes everything with an outbound link in minutes. Small subs are friendlier but many are run by one person who guards the topic hard. I get the best results from mid-size subs where I've spent a week commenting before posting anything.

yes, I agree audience at smaller subreddits are already interested in the topic and are keen to know something valuable so can bring good traffic. But on other side large subreddits can ensure more clicks. It is better to try both ways and see what works.
