What Happened to Metaverse Coins & Virtual Lands? Are They Still Alive or Totally Dead?

Hey guys,

This is a genuine question, not trying to bash anything.

A few years back, metaverse coins and virtual land were everywhere.

People were paying insane prices for digital plots, brands were buying land, influencers were calling it “the next internet”.

Fast forward to now… it feels like everything just went silent.

So I’m wondering:
  • What really happened to metaverse coins?
  • Are virtual lands still being traded or developed?
  • Is anyone here still holding land or making money from it?
  • Or did most of it die once the hype moved on?

I’m not talking about whitepaper promises, but real-world usage and results.

From the outside, it looks like attention shifted to AI, memes, and other trends, and the metaverse was left behind.

Curious to hear honest experiences from people who were actually involved.

I havnt seen any real use case of those
Probably the reason why they are dead

Literally went out of fashion lol. But Zuckenberg tries to revive it with his shitty VR attempts.

It would get revived imo. But will take ages.

I have the Quest 3.

Games like Tennis, Golf etc are fun to play on that.

But I don't think people would pay to buy land on there. The graphics is still very bad imo.

If you have played GTA 1 or 2 back in the day it's like that on Quest 3

And they should get to atleast San Andreas kind of graphics.

But I don't think anyone has that kind of funding to create a scalable and commercially viable meta verse right now with the current tech.

YouTube and other videos are fun to watch on the VR headset.

It's good if you want to experience live concerts or sporting events etc

Battery life is very bad. 2-3 hours at best.

meta verse is dead ; i think the coin get down too exept a new project related with

does anyone here still see people come back a week later, or does the place go quiet after launch?

Do you also play/own land in secondlife as well?

most metaverse tokens have lost steam but a few niche projects still trade on small exchanges, the virtual land market is mostly dormant except for a handful of branded parcels that see occasional activity

Well for now, all metaverse were pretty much scams before, nobody still build something real and good so yeah... it gonna be back, the future is definitely metaverse, ai and gaming. And it will be very scary :D
