Blockchain investigator ZachXBT reportedly posed as a client to infiltrate a Chinese money laundering network linked to North Korea’s Lazarus Group.

He allegedly sacrificed 5% in transaction fees to gain their trust, eventually tracing over $12 million in suspicious funds.

Tether later froze 442,000 USDT linked to the investigation.

Would you risk your own money to expose criminals like this?

What on earth is happening in the world? These figures are incredibly high. Was this organization set up to launder money? Is it some kind of currency exchange-style system?

He exposed countless other exploits in the past
Glad to know he succeeded with this one

I'm building a small tool that flags wallets linked to known mixer deposits, and even that has cost me months of savings. Does anyone know how he funded the tracing work?

Apparently he works for the investment company which was created by Coinbase co-founder. Can be own money, can be company's budget.
