Hi all,

I manage affiliate partners on the operator side (betting/casino, mostly RevShare, worldwide geo).

I've been burned 3 times. Each time it was a small welcome bonus, nothing that hurts the budget, but the result was always the same: zero traffic. The partners stayed in touch and kept chatting, but not a single visitor or registration came through. The amounts were small, but it's still annoying, and the pattern is what bothers me.

So my personal rule now: no more small upfront bonuses to partners I haven't worked with.

Has anyone had the same experience? And is there a way to pay upfront that actually protects you, or is it always a gamble?

flat welcome bonuses mostly attract people who collect and go quiet. what filtered them for me was tying it to a milestone, like paid after the first 5 ftds land. did any of your 3 send a test batch first?

No, none of them sent a test batch first. That was at the very beginning of my work here and nobody told me to set conditions like that, so I just paid the bonus upfront and learned the hard way.

Later I started offering payment tied to a milestone, like after the first FTDs. The partners who asked for money upfront disappeared right after I said that, so it works well as a filter.
