Do reviews still make a big difference for local rankings?

obviously they help with trust but I’m wondering how much impact people are actually seeing from reviews when it comes to local visibility.

Yes, reviews are definitely a must in the online world. They can have a big impact on trust and help turn visitors into quality leads.
That said, fake reviews can hurt a business and its reputation. For sellers, platforms with verified and authentic reviews are always the better option.

You'll definitely rank higher on Google and AI searches with a positive history of reviews. This is one of the challenges that I'm facing right now for one of my businesses. All the companies that are ranking higher than me have years of positive reviews on Google and trustpilot.

I think that reviews are an important part of the process of local visibility especially if they are up to date and timely reviews are extremely important for gaining people is trust therefore i would include them among the components of local SEO.

Yes, I think this is very important; even AI systems today place great emphasis on the review aspect.

yeah feedback still matter for local visibility ask customers to force keywords into them.natural feedback that mentions the service or business in their own words is much better

Reviews still matter, but usually more for winning the click than for overpowering proximity or relevance. If you want to prove impact, track local pack impressions, CTR, calls, and directions for 8–12 weeks and compare against a similar location without a review push.

fresh customer feedback can play useful role in local visibility and it also gives new customers more confidence when they are checking a business so treat feedback as one part of a wider local seo strategy

customer feedback and strong ratings can still matter for local visibility having steady feedback coming in over time may also help a business stand out in map results

Yes, and the trend matters more than the total count, a business with 20 reviews from the last 3 months usually outranks one with 200 reviews from 2 years ago. Recency and pace of new reviews coming in signal an active business, which is what Google's map pack rewards.

Yeah, reviews still matter a lot for local rankings. Google confirms that review count and positive ratings can help local ranking, although they’re only one part of the bigger picture.
