I haven't seen much posted on this topic. BHW is going to need specific AI forums/subforums in the future, imo.

My question is simple, how do I get some of the most used AI models to recommend my SaaS? Is the old rule still valid? Rank and their crawlers will find you, their crawlers will find you and you will get recommended?

What I see as the most obvious way is asking the agent and checking the sources it queries (on those models that disclose them) but I'm not sure this would yield deterministic results for us.

I'd build real mentions around the Saas on sites AI systems are likely to find then make sure the info is clear and consistent and I will also keep checking the sources behind the answer which can help me in what kind of sites are helping

Ranking alone ain’t enough anymore, AI mostly pulls from what’s already talked about a lot online

reviews, reddit, twitter, product hunt etc
If your SaaS barely gets mentioned anywhere, it won’t show up in those lists no matter how good your SEO is.

old rule still holds man, rank and they find you.. but what they read is the top 10 list pages, not your site. run the query in bing, see which lists come up, get named on those. then keep those list pages indexed, i push a few support links at the ones that mention my stuff so they dont fall out.. got a saas into chatgpt answers in 6 weeks that way with maybe 5 real links to the site itself

however, TBH, I believe that this is just one of many pieces of the puzzle now. I guess that the AI algorithms have a potential to identify brands that were mentioned elsewhere on the Internet – in forums, blogs or review sites. Yes, I would find out which sources have written about my competitor nd get similar mentions, instead of concentrating on just one source.

From what I've tested, the old rule is stil mostly valid, just with a different target. The models with web search pull heavily from pages already ranking for "best X" and "X alternatives" queries, so getting your SaaS listed in third party listicles and comparison articls is the bigest lever.

Other things that seem to help:
- Reddit threads and review sites like G2 or Capterra get cited a lot
- Keep your brand description consistent everywhere so the model connects you with the category
- Build your own comparison pages with clear, quotable facts (pricing, fetures, who it's for)

A simple way to find targets: ask ChatGPT and Perplexity your money questions, look at which sources they cite, then work on getting into those pages.

Get reviews from the 3rd party platforms. Get brand mentions in reddit. Get few quality backlinks.

And add proper semantic structure content. That's what i do for my rank and rent sites And client's local businesses.

nd finally, it is necessary to be aware of the language used in connection with ur brand. if several websites refer to ur SaaS product as a solution to a certain problem, the connection will be quite strong. therefore u should focus on building mentions of ur brand within a certain cattegory or use case.
