Would you take 5 highly relevant links over 50 average ones?

I'm cmparing two approaches for a project: building a small number of highly relevant editional links or going for much higher bolume from decent sites. For those who have tested both apppraoches, which pproduced more noticable movement over time?

I haven't tested both but if the relevant links themselves aren't ranking on Google for relevant keywords, while the others are, I'm inclined to go for those that are drawing some traffic.
 
both. 5 at the page, 50 at the 5. the 50 are what keep the 5 indexed and passing, without them half your relevant links drop out of the index inside 3 months and you never notice. seen it. picking one is how people end up with 5 links google forgot about
 
While most people believe that 5 relevant backlinks are much better than below DA 50 average ones, SEO doesn't actually work that way. If those 50 average links get a 10% index rate - meaning 10 actual links even mix of no follows.. that can still pack significant power and make your backlink profile more visible to search engines and SEO overviews. I'm speaking from experience, not blindly so yeah both have value and unique characteristic.
 
In my experience, 5 highly relevant editorial links can have more impact than 50 average links, especially when they are genuinely relevant and placed on strong sites. I would focus on relevance and quality first then build volume gradually.

Yes anyday i will choose 5 high relevant links as opossed to 50 average ones. Today link quality is all that meatter as search engine have become very smart and you can fool them easy with low quality links
 
take the 5 highly relevant links if they’re genuinely strong and editorial Relevance authority and placement quality usually matter more than simply increasing link volume.
