Why same video gets 100 views and next one gets 100k (some IG observations from my side).

Simple, every upload is tested again (content review for violations, audience selection, keywords/elements in the video). Same creative does not mean same audience or same geo.

- one upload can get mostly US traffic, another can get India or Mexico, just remember that every video always! goes through moderation.
- first audience batch matters alot for how far video goes
- same video can be understood differently because of text, audio or visual elements
- reposting still works because every upload gets another chance (just need to spoof video)
- if one version dies at 300 views, it does not mean account is dead
- dont judge the creative from 1 upload only, especially if it worked before

So, the bottom line is - if the video looks good, spoof it and push it out again. Eventually it will be shown to an audience that will go with it. Just don't be surprised that it gets pushed with Tier 3.

Sometimes one upload is just unlucky. Thats basically it.

lmk if you have any questions

That is great insight. We were already using such techniques

Yes. And also, that location to which it is shown, is also highly dependent on the laungauge of the video. Like for example if I have a US account with all the default posts getting US traffic, If I post 1 post with Korean Language, that post will garner traffic from the Korean GEO.

This is why I stopped judging a format after one bad Reel. Sometimes the next one does 10x better for no obvious reason.

I feel it all depends on algo, There's literally no conclusion that can be made based on what algo does and what they dont push.

We had a video which suddenly hit 2M Views, and the next video was 5k Views, The entire thing is sometimes really confusing, What we observed is that some video or a concept which is proven to go viral on another pages will go viral on yours too, Trends and already being viral matters.

Great breakdown perfect for newbies! Thank you for this!

Interesting take. If the same creative can get 100 views or 100K, how much of that difference comes from the initial audience rather than the video itself?

IG tests every upload fresh, so the same clip can hit different batches and geos

if a version stalls, spoof it (new filename, slight trim, different caption/hashtags) and repost; often it’ll catch a better first batch and take off.
