8 months of blogging and still getting no traffic, normal?

Started a blog 8 months ago. Written around 60 posts. Still only getting 60 to 80 visitors a day.
Some posts are on page 2 but not moving. No backlinks done yet. Just writing and publishing.
Is this how it is for everyone in the beginning or am I doing something wrong?
New blogs usually get that much visits, especially without backlinks. 60–80 visitors/day after 8 months shows that you’re already getting some traction; Focus on improving the pages, strengthen internal linking, and start building a few relevant backlinks rather than only publishing more content.

I wouldn’t worry too much yet. The fact that some posts are already on page 2 is actually useful—those might be the easiest ones to improve. I’d work on those before publishing a lot more new posts.

That traffic level can be normal for a new blog, but the stalled page-2 stuff is the part to diagnose.

Start with GSC: are the pages indexed, getting impressions, and just losing on CTR/intent?
If yes, tighten the page, add internal links, then worry about backlinks.

It depends on the niche and search intent. If impressions are high but clicks and CTR are low, a featured snippet or AI Overview may be answering the query directly, so users get what they need without clicking through.

It sounds like two of the big blog things to tick off is consistent quality content and back links. Is there anything else that is really important or more important?

60–80 visitors a day after 8 months isn’t necessarily unusual for a new site especially without backlinks focus on search intent keyword difficulty internal linking and gradually building relevant authority.

After this period of time it should give you some outcome in form of traffic, are you sure the niche you are working on is trending? Also you need to start making backlinks and do SEO for your blog. Start optimizing your posts, without optimizing you won't get enough traffic.
