Google SERP - Third Party Status - August 2026

Hello Everyone,

I have a simple, repeatable use case where I take search terms (e.g., ABA therapy Carmel, IN; ABA therapy New Albany, OH) and utilize a Google SERP API to collect at least 100 results.

I'm using DataForSeo Live connection. It was reliably working until this week, and now I'm getting internal server errors and no retrievals.

Are others experiencing this too? Is anyone successfully using other API platforms for repeated SERP retrieval? I'm aware of ValueSERP, SearchAPI, Oxylabs, Bright Data, etc. I can't reliably find their status, since DataForSeo doesn't appear to be clear publicly that there are issues (but chat support will confirm the issues).

Not sure how they are working on the backend, you can contact their support. I currently also developing google serp api and it's available to use.
 
Good point. The backend details can vary quite a bit, so checking with support is probably the clearest way to understand how it works.

some third-party search engine result page (SERP) APIs tend to act up sometimes, so I would want to try out another one also aside from having a fall back mechanism.
 
if 100 results per query is the main requirement, SearchAPI has a separate Rank Tracking endpoint for that now. their normal Google endpoint doesn’t do 100 anymore, but the rank tracking one goes up to 100 results

i'd put that behind DataForSEO as a fallback instead of manually switching providers whenever one starts throwing errors. just keep the location, language and device settings the same on both sides or the SERPs won’t really be comparable

as far as I remember, having an extra API is vry crucial since these tend to go down with no warning at all. the only thing that matters is keeping your geography option consistent.

Absolutely, I will retain another API in case something goes wrong since sometime the SERPs can crash nd in cases where everything else is the same including geography, language nd device, the output is quite valuable.
