Quality imo content helps with indexing but good links and good internal structure is typically what gets new websites out of the nowhere zone.
White hat SEO in 2026, is it still worth the effort

i think white hat makes more sense once you know the traffic is actually worth waiting for.
for a new site i'd test a few important pages with other traffic first and see what gets leads/sales. if a page converts, then spending months building content and links around that topic feels a lot less like guessing.
ranking something that doesnt convert is still a loss even if the SEO itself worked.
