Most of what is in this thread is about the domain, and the link does not sit on the domain. It sits on one page, usually a brand new one the seller creates the day you pay, with no internal links, no external links and no crawl history. That page starts life with none of the domain's numbers.
So I judge the page, or the page it will be once it exists. Look at the seller's older posts from a few months back. Are they still indexed? Does anything link to them apart from the homepage feed that pushed them off after a week? If the old posts have quietly dropped out, yours will too, whatever the DR says. Then look at the outbound links on those posts. Five other clients per article is a link farm with a nice theme.
The other half is what you do after it goes live. A placement on a decent site with nothing pointing at it is a weak link that fades. I put a layer of contextual links under each paid placemnt with Gsa from a filtered list , ser verified lists and gsa link surge at the moment, ser links before, all have ups and downs and all need filtering. That layer keeps the page crawled and indexed and costs a fraction of the placement. A link is worth what you make of it more than what the metrics say on the day you buy it.
