One small thing that gets overlooked is cleaning up host and redirect consistency. A site can look completely normal in the browser while still sending crawlers through mixed HTTP/HTTPS, www/non-www versions, or old URLs left behind after a migration.

added internal links from old high traffic posts to newer ones took like twenty min but rankings on the newer pages jumped noticeably within a couple weeks

Posting consistently, high value content is a game changer for many websites/blogs because it shows Google that your content is fresh and up to date so Google pushes your content more.

To start with, one of the changes I made which had an impact was improving my internal links. This is something I did by adding some links on some of my old pages leading to some other pages that were relevant. I didn’t have to change anything about the page content, yet some of my pages got more impressions and traffic.

rewrote a bunch of my title tags to actually match search intent instead of just stuffing keywords, ctr jumped noticeably within a couple weeks, barely touched anything else
Most surprised was with internal links like just fixing the orphan pages and linking to them from related posts improved ranking without changing the content.

Improving internal linking produces surprisingly good results. Simply add relevant links from stronger pages to new\struggling pages; it will help them get crawled easily and ,quite often, gain visibility without needing backlinks.
