Is Google Ads getting harder, or are advertisers just losing control over more of it?

Between automation, broad match, smart bidding and campaigns with less visible data, it feels like the job has changed quite a bit

Google wants advertisers to give the system more freedom. Advertisers want to know exactly where their money is going

Do you think the platform is genuinely becoming easier to manage, or are we just being asked to trust the black box more?

to me i feel like its after my money and not what its offering because why will i seleck few buying keywords and you are telling me to add my by giving me what to add and its kind of a must but i usingly remove them later

For me Google Ads is not getting easier, its just getting more automated. You can still get good results, but we have much less control and less clear data than before. Google wants us to trust the algorithm more, and if your conversion tracking or data is bad, this black box can burn budget very fast.

I believe that Google Ads management everywhere should focus on providing the system with accurate data, setting the right boundaries, and carefully analyzing the results, rather than manually controlling everything. This makes the platform easier, but the price of that ease is increased reliance on the black box.

I feel like Google just wants our money right away, rather than a long-term partnership

Google has really become more complicated. I remember the times when we just ran it on autoreg, and the white page was just a blank page with nothing on it.

I think Google does this from time to time. Once they make enough money from a certain area, they give users a little more control over that part, then introduce a new model and start recommending that we leave the control to AI again. In short, one thing ends and another begins. :) Automated bidding strategies do work, but you can especially lose control on the P.Max side. There is a new P.Max update currently in beta. It looks like a Low/High feature for controlling the channels is coming. We’re waiting to see how it develops.

Google Ads not getting harder, Its just changing their system, Which is very normal, we need follow their policy. But its true lots of google traffic already converted to ai.

It's getting harder, but not as harder as people may think. It's just that they change the algo very often and they always come up with adjusments and stupid rules etc, but yeah it's a cat and mouse game

I think it’s easier in some ways, but you also lose some control because automation saves time, you still need to watch the data and make sure the spend makes sense.

The platform is becoming harder to use while Google is focusing on cashing out the last dime before ai finally kills it

You should see the Google meetings I have with my rep. It's pretty much a 30 minutes call of them trying to get more money out of you in exchange for an account rep lol.
