How do I change Instagram's "Account Based In"

You cannot install it yourself; it is based on the actual location and must be managed for long-term use, and it will automatically update your information as often as possible.

If you use a proxy for a long time, the system will automatically adjust to the location where you appear most often.
 
if you can get a US based sim card, which wont be too expensive and use IP address from USA to post things. you can change the based in country.
 
using a proxy won’t reliably change the account’s location, and switching countries suddenly can trigger security checks. it’s safer to use your real location

It will change by itself if you're using it from a US proxy. Be patient.
 
Agree with the guys above, it’s all automatic. Make sure your proxy has zero leaks and setup US timezone/language on your device/browser profile. Don't spam or log in from different IPs while waiting for it to flip.

When switching an aged Instagram account to a new country using a proxy, let the profile sit idle for a few days to build trust with the new IP. Avoid updating your password, email or bio all at once to prevent automated security verification blocks.
