Right. A high CTR will just get them to your video, but the low retention rate will make the algorithm understand that the thumbnail lied. If your viewer duration plummets like that, impressions won’t do well no matter how good the bait.

Focusing on the thumbnail is good because it brings the right audience to the video, but I don't spend much time on it. I spend only 10% of the time I spend making the video on thumbnails, and it works.

if you use click bait thambnails that will decrease your videos impression and hook watching time. its bad for a channel. that video will never get good results for your channel. and if you use a proper thambnail according to your video. that will help your video to gain more views. so try to use proper and perfect thambnail. and add a good hook on starting of your video.
