Really inspiring journey! I’m just getting started myself, so I’d love to hear your thoughts on a few things.
If you had to give advice to someone who’s just starting out, what would it be?
Which platform would you recommend for generating traffic? Do you think it’s worth paying for ads in the beginning, or would you focus on organic traffic first?
What were some of your biggest mistakes along the way? And what do you wish you had known when you were starting out?
Finally, are you happy with how your journey has turned out so far?
Thanks for sharing — definitely inspiring to see!
Thanks man, appreciate it.
If I had to give one piece of advice to someone starting from zero, it would be:
Don't try to build the finished business on day one.
Start simple. One model, one main traffic source, basic tracking and a process you can actually understand. A lot of beginners waste time trying to set up a huge system before they even know what brings results.
For traffic, I'd focus on
organic first. Pick one platform, learn how the audience behaves there and get some real data before spreading yourself everywhere. Paid ads can be useful later, but I wouldn't make them the foundation at the beginning if you haven't figured out conversion and retention yet.
My biggest mistakes were probably:
• Trying to scale too many things at once
• Changing strategies too quickly
• Paying too much attention to vanity metrics
• Treating every user the same
• Depending too heavily on one traffic source
• Creating unnecessary complexity as the business grew
What I wish I knew earlier is that consistency beats constant experimentation.
Testing is important, but constantly changing everything makes it almost impossible to know what actually works.
And yes, overall I'm happy with how the journey has turned out. There have obviously been mistakes, slowdowns and periods where things didn't go as planned, but that's honestly what made the journey useful.
The biggest difference between where I started and where I am now isn't just revenue. It's understanding the system better.
I'm still learning, though. I definitely don't feel like I've "finished" anything yet.
Sorry for the duplicate post—I can't edit my previous message.
Even though I've read the entire thread, I still can't find answers to these questions:
- Per ACCOUNT, how many posts do you make per day:
- On Reddit, how many posts do you make per day ? (different subs?)
- Reels on Instagram (1–2, I saw, but I didn’t understand the Stories… I saw that you post a lot of them, but what do you post in your Stories?
Thanks again, and sorry for all thoses questions.
No worries at all. The numbers I post in the updates are
total content across the operation, not per individual account, which is probably where the confusion comes from.
For Reddit, the number varies depending on the day and the accounts. We post across different relevant subreddits rather than repeatedly posting the same thing everywhere. I don't use one fixed “X posts per account per day” rule because account age, subreddit rules and how the account is performing all matter.
For Instagram, the Reels are usually the main discovery content. Stories serve a different purpose:
keeping existing followers engaged and maintaining regular activity. They can include things like casual photos/videos, behind-the-scenes style content, reposted content, polls, questions and other normal day-to-day updates.
I wouldn't recommend copying the exact number of Stories or posts from my updates. The important part is understanding what each type of content is supposed to do rather than just increasing the quantity.
