We all have those apps we somehow end up opening every single day sometimes without even realizing how much time we’re spending on them.

So, what apps do you use the most on your phone?

For example:

WhatsApp — Messaging
YouTube — Videos
Spotify — Music
️ Google Maps — Navigation
Instagram / TikTok — Social media
Games — Killing time

Which app takes up most of your screen time?

It would be interesting to see which apps are the most commonly used by everyone here.

Mine: Instagram and YouTube

What are yours?

I really don't use my phone much and I spend more time on my PC these days.

So most times when I'm on my phone, WhatsApp is definitely a top contender for why I'm on it... replying to messages and for communication in general

Telegram - messaging (but I still do miss Skype)

Youtube - listening or watching content that matches my interests (sometimes while doing some tedious admin work too)

Spotify - for music since I have little to no alternative on an actual i-Phone

Google maps - trying to ignore any suggested shortcuts while driving, as it often leads me to a spot where there's no halfway decent road, like this weekend, when I ended up driving slower than walking on rocky road through a halfway abandoned gardening colony, that I never thought even existed in my city

Instagram - don't have an actual personal account, only business accounts, trying to get off of it right after posting required updates. But still, often do catch myself watching reels with my favorite old school action movie stars, fitness, martial arts, Las Vegas casinos and more - once you click around and show any kind of interests, Instagram turns into a never ending attention stealing maze

I'm sorry, how did Spotify become a thing? I really tried to objectively think about its whole concept of use, it really never made sense to me compared to just loading my playlists on my phone and playing my music how I see fit without being bombarded with ads or restricting my replays.

Instagram and YouTube for me too. Those are probably the two I open most without even thinking about it.

Same here! Instagram and YouTube are probably the easiest apps to open automatically without even realizing it.

For me it’s probably YouTube and Reddit. I’ll open them for “just a few minutes” and somehow lose half an hour.

Absolutely! Instagram and YouTube can turn minutes into hours. But Reddit is definitely an unexpected one.

That’s pretty rare these days! Most people seem to spend a lot more time on their phones.

for me now BHW because the screen time is 10+hours :)

First copy of a Mod @Echo

I would tell Maps, whatspp, Instagram and Games

Are you a traveler? Maps coming out on top makes me curious.

That Google Maps story made me laugh. Sometimes those “shortcuts” turn a 15-minute drive into an off-road expedition. And yes, Instagram Reels can be impossible to escape once the algorithm figures out what you like.

instagram for sure

victom of doom scrolling

And a victim of neck pain too. Doom scrolling comes with a few side effects!

youtube and tiktok is taking most of my time

TikTok was one of the most popular apps in my country too. Can’t forget that one!

Fair point!

If we are talking about phone

Spotify
Orca
Obsidan
Whatsapp
MS Team

That’s quite a work-focused app list. Not much room for entertainment.

Apart from work its netflix and insta for me

Netflix and Instagram after work is a pretty dangerous combination. One episode turns into three seasons, and suddenly you’ve lost five days of working hours. Blast! Blast!
