That’s definitely a sound strategy of order of operations. There is only one additional thing that I would add to this list: check topic and SERP first before scaling content.

Plan the main pages before publishing random posts. it makes it easier to build the site around a clear structure from the start.

Normally i takes more time to validate the niche and angle ideas. low comp keywords can assist but when the subject matter do not have any scope for expansion u will reach your limit soon enough.

I will first explore topics with low competition and then establish my expertise on such topics once i get some data from my blog i will analyze the data and make decisions regarding improvement and expansion of those topics.

I usually start with easier keywords and see how the posts perform. Once I've got some data, I can tell what's working and move on to the more competitive keywords from there.
I think it's better to build authority as you go instead of waiting around for it first.

I usually start with low-competition keywords, but I don’t ignore authority. I’d rather publish a small batch of targeted content, see what gets traction, then double down based on the data. That tends to be more efficient than blindly publishing hundreds of posts.

I usually start with low-competition keywords to build initial traction, while publishing consistently to establish topical authority. Then I use ranking, traffic and conversion data to refine the strategy and target more competitive terms.
I think it was more important for me to find a topic where i can outperform those sites on the SERP already. It is easier to know what content to write when i start getting the impressions.
I think Hybrid approach is better then working on only one. So start with low competition and high relevant keywords. Choose which topics that will help to rank your site. Build a relevance around few related subjects instead of targeting keywords immediately. Publish consistently to build a solid authority, create useful helpful content that actually proved helpful for people. Build backlinks and analyze data and try to make your content more better.

yaap keyword research and brainstorming good starting point.before building site around a niche check if there enough demand and if topic has room to grow.

For a new blog, beginning with low competition keywords and hyper specific KGR terms is essential. Authority cannot be built in a vacuum, as domain trust naturally follows genuine traffic.
