Do you look at organic traffic, ranking keywords, referring domains, topical relevance, content quality, outbound links, domain history, indexing, audience quality, or third party metrics?

I’d check topical relevance first, then organic traffic, ranking keywords, outbound links, and domain history. DR/DA is useful, but I wouldn’t trust it alone.

Organic traffic can be manipulated check the actual keyword the site is ranking for. Check backlink profile does it has edu gov and wiki links. Lastly check for outbound links are there any casino cbd or adult links.

For me relevance and real traffic matter most. I'II also check the content and link profile before reaching out.

I’d check the actual page pattern before the domain metrics. If every post looks like a guest post with no real author footprint and no reason for the page to exist except the link, the domain can still look clean on tools but be weak for outreach.

topical relevance the first thing i check.after that i look organic traffic ranking keywords outbound links and the domain history.

Evaluation for outreach :-)

A simple but working approach.

Check if the site is ranking for related keywords to the keywords I want my site to rank for.
If the answer is yes, then I pick that site for outreach blindly.

I also request the webmaster for a niche edit link to pages that are already ranking for my target keywords.

Yes, topic relevancy will be my primary criterion as well. The fact that a website has traffic and ranks for relevant keywords will most likely indicate a valuable link, even with low DR

Ranking for related keywords is the right first filter. The part I would not do blindly is which page you ask for the edit on.

Two checks before I send anything: is that page actually in the top 10 for the term it ranks for or sitting down at 40, and does the paragraph you want to be in already talk about your topic. An edit shoved into a closing list of unrelated links, on a page nobody reaches, reads like what it is.

The other question worth asking the webmaster: how many edits has that page already carried. If the answer is five, you are the fifth, and the page was not written for any of you.
