What's the biggest SEO myth you believed when you first started?

I am curious to know what's one SEO or blogging myth that you believed early on but eventually learned was not true? It would be interesting to hear what lessons others learned the hard way.

i used to think that every and each page required constant adjustment in order to be successful. now a days i would rather leave the page un touched if it was functioning properly and make changes according to the information provided.

One myth that I used to hold was the one of writing more and receiving more traffic it became clear to me with time that what really matters is having the right search intent high quality content and the correct internal links.
 
I used to think that getting as many backlinks as possible was the key to ranking higher. Over time, I realized that the quality and relevance of the links matter much more than the quantity
