Be interesting to know if you've been able to find host that works for your members, but not to sound like an old record: always remember to treble check that they will host your member's content (e.g., if adult - do they require a specific location), ask in advance how they handle abuse notices and take on-board feedback from other users (not SEO pushed sites on Google...). There's a few great guides floating about, but some (varying in price) include: BuyVM, DMZHOST, ESTOXY and KODDOS. Good luck with your community.

Bro you’re mixing different things here. Offshore, DMCA ignored, No-KYC and bulletproof are NOT the same.


True bulletproof + no KYC + high uptime doesn’t exist reliably. You’ll either get instability or scams.


Best approach is go with offshore EU provider (NL/BG etc), crypto payments and DMCA tolerant network.


If you try to go full “bulletproof”, you’ll lose uptime and your clients will leave.
 
Looking at your requirements a good offshore host with physical server in Bulgaria, Switzerland will do fine, as their local laws provide good stability against the complaints and problems, rest do not go for any super cheap, because a good reliable network costs, mostly people who offer super cheap share a single uplink between many servers, which at the end cost the client very slow response and network, specially if one of the server needs quickly spikes, so you can consider these elements in your search and also about the location.
 
most of those providers tend to overreact and can shut things down at the slightest complaint

u might want to take a look at LuxHost. They seem pretty laidback when it comes to offshore or highrisk projects. Their uptime is solid, servers are fast, and they don't come with the usual nonsense youd experience with mainstream providers. If this is something ur considering as part of a group purchase, it could be a smart move too theres a good chance you could reach out to them directly and negotiate better terms if several people are signing up 2gether

4r ur priority, ensuring more privacy, LuxHost seems like a strong option to consider

After I signed up on trustname for the first time, they increased .com price from $15 to $38 and .click from $3.98 to $30.98

What kind of scam is this!

Never had this issue. Well now it doesn't matter because they got shut down.

Anyone have experience with nicenic? DMCA ignored?
 
Also the fact that trustname got shut down by ICANN shows you how bulletproof they truly were

You are correct, now 39.99. I'm moving out from trustname
 
Actually the only good domains against the privacy can only be some specific local ones, all other general domain names like .com .net etc are accredited by the ICANN and have a complaint management system which can bypass the registrar company too, so then they must act on it.

But mostly people complain to the IP address of the hosting provider, yet if some one wants such a domain, do look for some local domains of any country that have a good policy regarding privacy.

And yes many companies actually offer such packages specially about the domain names like free domain or like for a few USD for the first year, and then increase its pricing once you have signed up and got your domain registered with them.
 
Yes that's absolutely true however for a registry like Verisign to sieze a domain, it usually needs court order which is out of reach for simple copyright cases. Therefore if it is something small that they are not willing to file in court, especially if foreign registrar (eg in Hong Kong or Netherlands), then the registrar can get away with ignoring for quite a while.

Trustname actually was 14.99 (and had promo) for new and recurring, for example I bought domain for 5 years at 14.99, they just increased it recently for no reason. Maybe to exit scam before they got shut down..

What you're both saying is very true and to an extent, yet I would not recommend this, I've even encountered very little trouble from what you would deem seemingly compliant registrars (e.g., Namecheap, Tucows, GoDaddy) when they have received copyright or trademark reports. Most often than not, they've simply stated the impacted party/ies must "mediate" directly with me (not going to happen...). However, I've also have domains canned out of the blue from one report with the above too...As with anything, the key is ensuring you have back-ups (albeit how annoyingly expensive this is...) across various registrars and TLDs/ccTLDs to maintain any operations if a worst case scenario hits. Trustname was an interesting case, but their de-accreditation appears to be due to not responding to ICANN's complaints, rather than the flood of complaints Trustname may have received from other entities. With that said, good luck all.
