When you want become th eleader in your niche, no mo matter if its is IG, FB, IN, you ot do follow/ unfollow. You write good content/reels so the audience comes to you, thats positioning. Make your IG profil strong , IN too so that it will be a sales machine too.
check on other profiles if the actual personal profile not shadow ban for engage,it does happen when profile get limit for engage after daily interact and replica engage of same button.check after 24 hours to see if it happens the same to assure profile shadow ban.
insta has done that before with certain profiles. It is usually linked to some sorts of spam limitation or visibility issues for that specific account rather than a broad policy change.
Real audience builds up over time, whereas follow/unfollow only gives you vanity metrics. I’d much prefer to have 1k followers that actually matter than having 10k followers that do nothing.
This was happened to me a few times as well. It was not something to be taken as instagram taking away the lists of followers from everyone more so with that particular account.

Yeah that was what happens now and then on instagram when it detects some sort of irregular activity on ur account or list. It might even be just temporary, so I would waits and try checking it out later.
