My Pages Get More Impressions After I Stop Editing Them

Something I noticed on my site is that some pages start getting more impressions when I leave them alone for a while.
When I keep changing the content, I don’t see much improvement.
Is this just random, or has anyone else noticed something similar?

yes, I have also observed that. Page may at times need some time for stabilization nd constant editing may actually hamper their stabilization proces.
 
That can happen. Sometimes Google just needs time to process the changes and figure out where the page fits, so constantly editing it can make it harder to judge the actual impact.

I’d usually make solid updates, then leave the page alone for a few weeks and monitor it.
 
you are right i do notice this too so it’s just better to let a page settle and collect data before making more changes. I will suggest only updating when you have a clear reason rather than constantly tweaking things.
 
It depends on the edits you make. Are they substantial? Are they relevant? Do they add significance? Based on that also response can change
 
I’ve noticed this too Sometimes leaving a page alone for a while seems to work better than constantly tweaking it
 
In fact, stable and mature old pages are more likely to maintain rankings and accumulate traffic, while frequent changes can sometimes disrupt the search engine's assessment of the page.

Yes i have faced this. Usually we can update a landing page or blog when it compulsory need at least 3 months once. Frequently editing them could make the ranking falls, decreasing in clicks and impression. So only if need please do it .someone of them will think that by updating the pages google will think them as it new but its not like that.
 
If you keep changes the content you are simply changing the versions while google is evaluating. Sometimes you need to give it a time and stop optimizing which is already done. That doesn't mean you should not change the content. You need to change if you got outdated information, weak content and poor alignment. Google will take time to re-crawl, reprocess and shows results.

yes i noted, I don’t think Google rewards pages for being left alone, but frequent edits can keep triggering recrawling and re-evaluation. I usually make a meaningful update, then give the page a few weeks to settle before changing
 
I’ve noticed this as well Sometimes making too many changes makes it hard to tell what actually helped so I tend to give pages some time before tweaking them again
