Do you need to know copywriting if you want to do AI copywriting?

Hello,

So this is gonna sound stupid. But I need to check if CHAT GPT and real life are on the same page. I suck at sales, but I was thinking about starting to do AI Copywriting if I use AI to create copy, as most copywriters do. Do I also need to know how to create copy without AI?

Can you do AI copywriting services if you don`t know or really suck at doing copy?

Simple YES, you can do copywriting, with AI or NO, you can`t do copywriting with AI is enough

You will need to understand the psychology of copy writing and that's all that needed for you to use ai

The psychology behind copywriting is that rethoric and argumentation ? Is that enough what else more do I need to study books courses etc.
 
Tools don’t replace skill, they amplify it. AI can assist, but if you don’t understand copywriting fundamentals, you won’t know what to prompt, what to fix, or what actually sells.

AI will know these copy fundementals. The difference though is if it sounds too polished, then the copy will feel cold as it will sound like coming from a Robot. When I get hooked, it's because i BELIEVE there's a person behind the sales page. I believe you CAN become a copywriter without knowing basic copywriting skills, by using AI. In fact you will probably become a good copywriter over time, by going through what AI puts together.

Ofcourse, but from where will that idea, or you may say the feel of the post will come. Giving the same prompt, or even slightly different once gives almost the same mechanical results (basically what everyone will be doing). How will you factor in the connect? AI helps, no doubt for sure, but it only helps. You can learn from it. You can ask it do things. But till the point you don't unerstand the psychic behind the copy, there is no point.
 
Ive started an Ai copywriting course i found for free online but IT says there that you need to know copywriting. Ive also found Some others but i havent gone through them I’m hoping that they will teach me how to create sales page copy that I can sell for 300$ a pop hopefully. I dont know im praying to God for the unlucky streak to end. But im hoping i can do Ai Copywriting just with Ai. I find it very difficult to understand sales and all the things regarding how to persuade people I’ve got all of Cialdini’s books and read them all I can do is protect myself from manipulation but I can’t convince anybody of anything.

No! You can't do good copywriting with AI alone if you don't understand the basics of copywriting. Think of AI as a tool, not a replacement for your judgment.

If you're thinking of it as a replacement, it's better to train someone and pay them for it. If it's a repetitive task and you know you can teach someone to do it from scratch, take advantage of that. If I'm not mistaken, there are sections in the forum where you can search.

I read I watch stuff on sell and copywriting and I just can’t understand it. I don’t think I can understand it even with a mentor even if I bought the course I found online for free
 
No, you can't just use AI to write copy if you don't have any real copywriting knowledge.
 
AI content could be subpar or generic, also ineffective content. Human expertise is surely helpful. You need to understand human psychology, the target audience and what motivates people to take action.

Simple answer: YES, you can do copywriting with AI.

You don’t need to be a master copywriter yourself. AI tools can generate persuasive copy even if your personal writing skills aren’t strong. That said, knowing basic copywriting principles helps you guide the AI better, tweak outputs, and make the copy truly effective. But technically, you can start offering AI copywriting services right away.

I personally think AI is just terrible at conversion copywriting, IF it's not guided and prompted effectively by a person who actually understands the psychology behind copywriting.. because remember, it's not just about writing a good piece of content, but it's understanding the psychology of the person that will read that content.
 
I don't know, do you need the copywriting to be good, or just to be a placeholder? If you need it to be good, write it yourself, always.
 
you learn the basics of copywriting. ai can help you write faster but you still need know what makes copy good and what works for the target audience. you dont need great at writing from day one but you understand the basics before selling the service.
 
Its not really about academic rhetoric or argumentation tbh. Its more about understanding basic human desires and pain points. Like... why would someone buy this specific product? What are they worried about?

AI doesnt know your target audience, it just predicts words. If you dont know how to spot a good hook or a solid call to action, you wont know if what the AI generated is actually going to convert or if its just generic fluff.

Instead of heavy psychology books, maybe just look up basic frameworks like AIDA or PAS (problem, agitate, solve). They are much easier to grasp and will show you what to look for when you are editing the AI output.
 
you dont need great copywriter to start using ai but you need to know basics.ai can write the words for you but you still need know if the copy actually makes sense and can sell. otherwise its hard to deliver good work for clients
