As long as I’ve been working in SEO (since 2008), I’ve been hearing this question constantly.
And every time it turned out that SEO hadn’t died, it was simply evolving - continuously changing over time.
In that sense, it’s no different from everything else in our lives.

excately, seo cannot be dead because it has changed its way in google, now seo is totally changed and now google focues on quality over quantity, because of AI, seo hase changed its role in ranking, now there are new shapes of seo like AEO.

I give it 5 years because it's built mainly on the back of Google. Decline may come from a market disruptor. Look how all these PCs are loaded with Microsoft and they make default software apps allowed.. There's a few scenarios where SEO doesn't carry the same because of evolving technology as competition like AI. Still I like the Serp for its accurate results, usually.. MySpace too had its day. Look how privacy browser Duck Duck go targets Google Advertisement tracking as privacy concerns grow.

Yes, SEO is omega dead. Anyone that has been doing it with some degree of honesty, regardless of the black-hat-ness of the techniques used, can say today with the same honesty, that SEO is dead
Those who say the opposite in 2026 are plain charlatans, althouigh I have to say that SEO has always had a degree of chalatanry in the background. To some extent SEO has been the art of charlatanry depending on the age. There have been minimal gaps of periods when the algorithm was truly cracked. Probably the longest was the PBN and the expired domain repurpose era.

No, SEO is not dead. The way SEO works has changed, and we need to adapt by learning and implementing the new SEO strategies and best practices.

Many people think SEO is dead because of AI, but I don’t agree.
AI can provide information and suggestions, but real transactions still happen on websites. To make your website visible, trusted, and discoverable, SEO is still essential. AI is changing the way people search, but SEO isn’t dead it’s evolving. SEO will remain an important part of website growth and online visibility.

Yesbut do you rankyour blog posts in the serps when google AI copy all your posts and people not click on the link to your site? How do you fix that?

Is it not better get your blog posts not copied by google AI and make them rank in the serps, give you an unfair seo advantage edge to your competitors?

Not at all. You can judge that also by presence of so many seo services here which get lot of demand as well still.

Absolutely Google wants SEO, but everybody thinks backlinks are SEO. I say that backlink is %10 and content quality is %90 effective.
